Gary Farris - Broker Associate My Background

I have been actively practicing Real Estate since I earned my California Brokers License in 2007.  In April 2016 I received my Arizona Real Estate Brokers license and began instructing part-time at the Arizona School of Real Estate in July 2016.  My Real Estate Broker Affiliation is with Berkshire Hathaway Home Services in both their North Scottsdale office and Palm Desert, California.  I have sold homes from the low $200,000 to $2.4 Million and treat all clients with the highest level of service.  My Motto “Service Beyond Expectations”.  While we still own our home in Palm Desert and I still do some limited Real Estate business there, in March of this year my wife and I purchased a home in Anthem and now make Arizona our full-time residence.

After graduating college at California University, Fullerton with a degree in Business / Marketing, I worked in the electronics component industry in several different Sales and Marketing including management positions servicing Military, Aerospace, Telecommunication, Medical, and Automotive accounts.  Accounts included Boeing, Northrop / Grumman, Raytheon, General Dynamics, Cisco Systems, Sierra Wireless, Apple, Nortel Networks, Baxter Medical, and General Motors, to name only a few. During this career, I was relocated several times including Seattle, Denver, Northern California, and returned to Sothern California.  This work also required extensive travel, nearly weekly, throughout the United States, Canada, and Mexico.  My business travel also required periodic travel to Europe and China.

Since 2014, I volunteer with the Riverside County Sheriff Department’s Mountain Rescue Unit (rmru.org) as a Search and Rescue Team Member, the Newsletter editor, and Recruitment Chairman.   I am certified with the Sheriff’s Aviation Department for both day and night helicopter rescue operations.  RMRU is part of the national Mountain Rescue Association (MRA) which consists of almost 100 teams in the US and Canada.  I also assist with the MRA website, mra.org.

Prior to my involvement with Mountain Rescue, for 15 years I was actively involved with the Boy Scouts of America as an adult Scout leader for high adventure outings.  For 13 consecutive years of my time in Scout leadership, I also taught classes for the BSA Orange County Council’s Leadership training conference in Rock Climbing, Long Term Backpacking, Desert, and Winter camping.  I am proud to say that both of my sons obtained the rank of Eagle Scout as I did in my youth.

I am an avid hiker, backpacker, a mountaineer, hold a United States Parachute Association Freefall skydivers license, and am a certified scuba diver.
